Software Engineering (SE) Track

Aims and Topics

A special track on Software Engineering (SE Track) aims to be a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners, in academia and industry to share new ideas, experiences and results, and to present their latest findings in any aspects of Software Engineering. Original and unpublished papers are invited in all areas of Software Engineering. SE will emphasize the design, implementation, management and applications of Software Engineering. Topics of mostly theoretical nature are also welcome, provided there is practical potential in applying the results of such work.

• Software Architecture, Framework, and Software Design Patterns
• Metrics and Measurement
• Maintenance and Reverse Engineering
• Quality Assurance and Management
• Verification, Validation, Testing, and Analysis
• Formal Methods and Theories
• Aspect-Oriented Software Development and Design
• Component-Based Development and Reuse
• Safety, Security, Privacy, and Risk management
• Dependability and Reliability
• Fault Tolerance and Availability
• Empirical Studies, Benchmarking, and Industrial Best Practices
• Applications and Tools

Paper Submission & Selection

Research papers and experience reports related to the above topics are solicited. Submissions must not have been published or be concurrently considered for publication elsewhere. Papers should be submitted in the PDF format with no more than six pages using the ACM-SAC proceedings format via the START submission system. Authors' names and affiliations should be entered separately at the submission site and not appear in the submitted papers. Each submission will be reviewed in a double-blind process according to the ACM-SAC Regulations.

Paper selection is based on the originality, technical contribution, presentation quality, and relevance to the SE Track. Upon paper acceptance, prospective authors must provide a camera-ready version which takes into account the review comments. The conference proceedings will be published by ACM and also available online through the ACM Digital Library.

Paper registration is required, allowing the inclusion of the paper/poster in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for the paper/poster to be included in the ACM/IEEE digital library. No-show of scheduled papers and posters will result in excluding them from the ACM/IEEE digital library.

Note: The paper length is 6 pages + 2 pages at extra charge (max of 8 pages).
           The poster length is 3 pages + 1 page at extra charge (max of 4 pages).

Student Research Abstracts Competition

Graduate students are invited to submit research abstracts following the instructions published at SAC 2015 SRC website through the START SRC Submission System.

• (Strict deadline) Extended to 10/10/14: Submission of regular papers
• (Strict deadline) Extended to 10/10/14: SRC research abstracts
• (Strict deadline) Extended to 11/30/14: Notification of paper and SRC acceptance/rejection


• (Strict deadline) Extended to 12/15/14: Camera-ready copies of accepted papers/SRC
• (Strict deadline) December 15, 2014: Author registration due date
